Current TRDP contract extended through
September 30, 2008
Current enrollees in the Basic and Enhanced TRICARE Retiree Dental Program (TRDP) were recently notified by mail that benefits under the current TRDP contract, which is due to expire on April 30, 2008, have been extended. During the contract extension period that begins May 1 and ends September 30, your TRDP monthly premiums will continue at their current rate, unless you move or change your enrollment option. There will be no new deductibles to satisfy during this period, and your annual maximum will restart on May 1 and be available to you through September 30.
The Department of Defense has awarded Delta Dental of California a new five-year contract to continue administering the TRDP. The new contract becomes effective October 1, 2008 and runs through September 30, 2013.
More information on the new program will be available later this summer. Meanwhile, we have provided answers below to some of the more frequently asked questions about the contract extension.
